I took a day in between jobs to hit up Catalina Island aboard the Liberty, Long Beach Sportfishing's 3/4-day party boat. I think there were probably around 15 other anglers so we had a lot of elbow room to work with. No yellowtail this day, but I had a good fight with a nice sized bonita on my new Trinidad TN16. Also tried some butterfly jigging but only ended up with some pesky macs. On our way back the captain stopped briefly for some rockfish.
