Jumped on the Spitfire for a 3/4-day trip to Catalina with Juan and his uncle and nephew. There were reports of YT around and the boat bagged 10, but none for us. Just one calico each (I took 'em all home). It was very crowded with the official report saying there were 54 people--ugh. Still looking to land my first YT...
What sorta made me grumble was that the deckhands weren't really helping the newbs out (and there were plenty, myself included). One deckhand caught 3 YT when he could've been helping others get one. Maybe on the way there they can have a little how-to session on setting up your rig. At least they did a great job making sure to collect the $10/person JP fee...
